Week 8 Liift 4 Review - A Mom's Weight Loss Transformation! Oh, it's week eight and I am loving how tight and toned my body feels. I think some of the highlights from this program for me has been that when I am increasing my strength, I've been doing $25 for my chest presses. I've been doing 17 and a house for my bicep curls. These are weights that I've never ever picked up before. But what happens when you're picking up heavier weights Like this is. I don't, I don't feel bulkier, but I feel tighter. My arms feel smaller and they're tighter and I've lost inches, but I haven't really lost pounds. I've lost two pounds over the whole program, but I love that I can pick up these heavyweights and they feel lighter to me, so I've been able to stay on course with every single workout because it's only been four days a week, which again, amazing for any busy mom. And the one other thing that I love besides feeling that super tight, toned, lean feeling, my body is that he had us working core every single workout, which I've never done before. So now I am in the habit of doing it and even if my program does not call for it, I am going to add it on and that is something that I have noticed my abs have changed the most from have obviously the meal plan, but from working them everyday wanted to show you the moves from this program because sometimes when you see someone else doing it, you think to yourself if she can do it, so can I. and that's the theme in our online groups is if she can do it. So can I. and that's what I saw when I lost 40 pounds and I caught wind of these amazing calendars and these amazing trainers that I could just from a touch of my finger, play my workout and do it around my kids' schedule. And it's been such a blessing in my life and to be able to be consistent with it I think is the most important thing. Because I used to always think, why do these people have this healthy lifestyle and how do they fit in I did not comprehend how they made it, their lifestyle with all the other things they had to get done in their life and in a day. And now I know now I know and that's why I love sharing it. So of course on my free day, I'm able to use my sliders, my loops from one of my other favorite programs. And this workout was a burner. It was leg day and 10 minutes in I was dead. I was dying. Um, so I just wanted to show you all the amazing, amazing options that are at your fingertips. And of course there is a bundle deal that will save you so much money. It's basically for a year of fitness, what most people pay in a month for their gym. I live in a little. It's come down and do a couple of the workout moves with me because I honestly can feel that I'm showing them a healthy, happy lifestyle. And that brings me joy. So one of my friends lost seven inches all over. Another one has no more workout, gail, because she's been able to fit all four workouts in a week before. When I started, I was drinking wine almost every night, lots of cheese and just feeling blah. Now I've been able to kick my wine cravings and I hardly ever even think about it because it's been two months now, so of course I'm going to have some over the holidays, but I just feel like it's not part of my daily life anymore and I left that. Intermittent Fasting, Heavy Weights and Carbs OH MY!! Do you ever feel stuck and / or bored with your health journey? Here are some tips I’ve personally found that help me when I’m stuck. 1. Look at your weight lifting routine. Have you been doing the same "light weight, high reps" forever? Time to change it up & lift heavier with lower reps! Don't get me wrong, BOTH have great benefits, but whatever you're currently doing, consider switching it up :) DISCLAIMER: Don't sacrifice your form. By heavier, I don't mean lift something you can't handle - instead, the weight you lift should be extremely TOUGH by about 7 or 8 reps, to the point where you can barely finish the last 2-3 reps. 2. Look at your cardio. If you're always doing the same type of cardio, it's time to make a change! I lost 40 lbs after having my second baby with a cardio program proven to burn 9x the fat. HIIT workouts can break through any barrier and give you an after-burn for hours after your workout. Even if you're drenched in sweat, your body has adapted and you're not challenging your muscles in the same way that you used to. Try something new! If you need a suggestion, reply back to me! 3. Look at your nutrition. If you're always eating the same foods day in and day out following the same plan, your body adapts to that. It's ok to let your body find that new normal, but then try phasing your diet and changing it up. You may not be getting enough food and with my current portion macro counting plan, I’m eating a LOT (including healthy carbs and fruit) and feeling better then ever. Here is the link: https://amzn.to/2IRVNMP You can also try eating before a workout even if it’s just a shake with some spinach blended in. I can push play about 20-30 min after my Superfood shake. Transform:20 Week 2 Review! Weight Loss Transformation! Week two review is here. All I really want to say about this week is, going on vacation and starting a new workout program does not mix well. It was more of a struggle than I want to admit. Here’s why. I decided to bring my step with me which my husband was kind of on board with but it still took up a lot of room. When we got to the hotel I did my usual, laid out my shoes, my laptop, my room key, my mom crack, my water; everything I would need for the next morning’s workout. I always set it in the bathroom so I can get up and ready but not wake the kids. That part was great because I have my discipline and my routine in that area. My body just felt really sluggish and heavy most of the week there was maybe two workouts, out of the five that I did there, where I actually felt like I had a little pep in my step. Even though I try hard to read ingredients and stick to lots of vegetables and lean proteins, there is still junk that gets put in the foods. Whenever I travel, I’m so grateful that I have to eat gluten-free because it’s really tempting to eat empty carbs when you are busy and just need to grab something for a quick energy. I think a few days I did not drink enough water and that always makes me feel bloated and almost like I have a weighted bodysuit on, it’s really uncomfortable during these cardio workouts. A couple things I learned about my body on this trip that might help you too is that when you order eggs they tend to use way more oil than they need to. I normally have my shakeology in the room before we head out for the day, but they had a really great egg white frittata that Matt had had the day before and it looked amazing! It had a lot of veggies and it I thought it would be healthy. For the next four hours my stomach felt like it had a heavy weight in it and I was really bloated. I realized it was from the oils that they used on the eggs and I swore that I would always stick to my shakeology in the mornings so that I could start my day off right and not feel gross. I also thought it would be brilliant to buy a spicy pickle that they had at the market but that too had some interesting preservatives, and way too much salt so the next day during my workout I felt really puffy. There are so many things that are just not worth it for my sensitive system. On the bright, I was able to switch my rest day. It’s scheduled to be on a Sunday but I moved mine to Wednesday because I knew I would be home on Sunday to get a good workout in. I also was thankful that the workouts are only 20 minutes because then I could get back to the room and shower and get to Disneyland. Having my “trainer in my in the box” aka the Netflix for fitness right on my laptop, really saves me! I recommend it to everyone but you need to coach too. You need to be in a private accountability group with me, so that you cannot only do your program from anywhere you need to you also get the support of the girls and I so that you have those eyes watching. Making sure you’re showing up for yourself! Overall, staying on track keeps my momentum for my results going strong so that when I come home I don’t have too much to make up for even if my eating was not perfect. You can see in the video that I show some of my salads that I chose and really you just have to seek it out and want to find a healthy food because when you do it’s always there. PS: The caramel apples in Disneyland are definitely worth it. 21 Day Fix Real Time Review Week 3 - What is 21 Day Fix Real Time? This week was really fun. The reason why I liked it is because she took the hardest move from week to and had us do it for the full minute. It really tested my strength and endurance and I felt STRONG! I show you a little clip of my nutrition so you can see that our rule of thumb is to always pack at least one meal with us when we leave the house because this sets us up for success. It was my daughter’s ninth birthday this week so I had a lot going on she had two different parties and it was also Mother’s Day. We went out to brunch on Mother’s Day and the one thing that saves me is being gluten-free because I’m not tempted by a lot of the empty carbs that are available when I’m eating out. My treat for Mother’s Day was mimosas, of course, and I counted those as all my yellows for the day. I love the freedom the ultimate portion fix meal guide gives us because she lets us choose what we put in our containers and when we eat them. That’s the foundational fix path plan. There are two other plans that she teaches in the nutrition training but right now I am mixing intermittent fasting, which means that you within an 8 to 9 hour window each day, and the foundational fix container plan. I have good energy and I like the fact that I’m not structured to a time nutrition plan. I do think the time nutrition is an awesome way to do it because you know exactly what container you’re eating and when in regards to what time your workout is each day. It sounds complicated but it really is simple so if you are someone who needs structure and to have someone else to write the exact plan for you then you would love the timed nutrition. There’s also the three week carb cycling plan that gives you that quick shred and I also think that’s amazing for anyone who’s getting ready for a vacation or a wedding where they just really want that quick momentum in their journey. My story on fitness and all the struggles that go along with it. Nothing you do is ever a walk in the park!! I struggle with candy addiction and love eating carbs just like anyone else!! I definitely have worked hard consistently to stay in shape. I have done different fad diets trying to eat the right foods, none of them allowed for consistency. My husband decided to do P90X.....while I was pregnant, then he did Insanity......then the Ultimate Reset and lost 62lbs!!!! This was while I was pregnant!!! He lost a ton and I gained a ton. What it did was, spurred me on!! Turbofire was my first love!! As well as Shakeology. We have been having it for over 2 years everyday!! Even our kids have it daily. Beachbody has helped me get in the "best" shape of my life. What this has really helped me see, is how many other people are in a place where they need help with their health and fitness. This business allows me to show people a way to get to a consistency in their health and fitness journey. I lead by example and now it is paying it forward daily, helping others do the same thing!! A Mom's High Ponytail Tutorial 2019! Dress Up That Casual Look! This style is so so cute!!! It dresses up any outfit or style. I often forget how changing my hair can change the entire vibe of my look and it doesn’t cost extra! That’s a win in my book. This high ponytail would also work if you don’t have time to wash your hair but want to look put together and feel cute! The #1 one trick I’m freaking out about in the video, is to combine the two ponytails! Especially if you have thicker hair and ponytails give you a headache. The two rubber bands give your hairstyle much more support and will help prevent the headaches a lot. I always start and end my styles with this product https://amzn.to/2SAZtoe It adds volume, texture and a little grit for styling plus it smells amazing!!! The first thing you start with is a half-up, half-down small ponytail making sure you’ve lined up the part to the edge of your eye line as you can see me do in the video. Make sure you take small sections out in the front you can curl because this adds to the glam. You could always do a sleek high pony with no hair down in the front if that compliments your face shape and style, (I’m thinking of J Lo’s sleek ponytails and buns) Then bring the rest of your hair up and add the second elastic (preferably one that matches your hair color.). Remember, it’s not about perfect structure, it’s about “a little messy and little fancy” when it comes to hair. As I watch this video, I’m thinking I need more blonde put in my hair. The next step is to take a small section from the back, wrap a half-inch section of hair around the elastic to hide it and then wrap little hair around the end of the bobby pin before you secure it under the ponytail.
